Telehealth consent

Last updated July 2026

What is telehealth?

Telehealth involves the use of secure video and phone technology to deliver healthcare remotely. By booking a consult with Women's Health GP, you consent to receiving care via telehealth.

Benefits and limitations

Telehealth offers convenient, private access to an AHPRA-registered GP. However, it has limitations — some conditions require a physical examination or in-person testing. Your GP will advise if in-person care is needed and help arrange it.

Not for emergencies

Telehealth is not suitable for medical emergencies. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 000 immediately or attend your nearest emergency department.

Your rights

You may stop a telehealth consult at any time. The same standards of confidentiality and professional conduct apply as they would to an in-person consultation.

Consent

By proceeding with a booking, you acknowledge that you understand the nature of telehealth care, its benefits and limitations, and consent to being assessed and treated by an AHPRA-registered GP via telehealth.
